Paging Silicon Valley billionaires! A recently completed compound in the posh town of Woodside, CA, has landed on the market for $110 million. With that price tag, it holds the current title for most expensive listing in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The massive offering is located in an area packed with tech titans and sits across the street from a mansion owned by the co-founder of Oracle, Larry Ellison.
Exclusive enclave
Tucked into the hills about 30 miles south of San Francisco, the town has one of the highest concentrations of wealth in the U.S. The upscale area has also been the home of the finance guru Charles Schwab and the actress Michelle Pfeiffer.
It sits close to Stanford University, venture capital centers, private jet facilities, as well as two international airports.
Maybe not surprisingly, the previous title holder of most expensive home in the Bay Area belonged to another Woodside abode. That legacy property, known as Green Gables, had been offered last year for $135 million. It has since been taken off the market.
As for the current listing, the parcel sold in 2018 for $6.78 million to a luxury developer. Since then, a totally new mansion built on spec and packed with perks has been erected on the 3.1-acre spread.
“I think it will sell. It’s such a unique product,” says the agent representing the sale, Scott Dancer with Compass.
Noting that the construction of a luxury home in Woodside can take years, including for the design, obtaining the permits, and the building itself, this home allows those with means to buy brand-new without the headaches of any red tape.
“What we are selling solves a problem for the special few who can afford it,” he says.
Italian-style village
The 20,000-square-foot estate centers on a 14,000 square-foot, two-level main home with five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and three half-bathrooms.
